County Durham-based Roman Limited, the UK’s leading manufacturer, distributor and
installer of showering products, appointed us to carry out risk assessments,
e-learning and on-road driver training on its
mixed fleet of 75 cars and vans.
Roman’s Logistics Director, Mike Spink, commented: “While it is not true to say that
this latest risk assessment initiative is a response to any specific legislation such
as the Corporate Manslaughter Act, we are aware of a general tightening of health and safety laws and
with our drivers regularly driving for work purposes, we have a duty of care to them.
"Hence, we make sure our fleet is up-to-date, replaced regularly and serviced and maintained in
accordance with manufacturer warranties.While we do not have a bad accident record, we wanted
to make sure that all of our health and safety initiatives were joined up, came through one
central point and that we had put in place all of the practical steps necessary to meet our
duty of care obligations."
